24-HOUR HELP LINE (1-800-SAY-KNOW) 1-800-729-5669![]() HOTCADA MISSION STATEMENT“To combat the devastating effects of alcohol and drug abuse on individuals, families, and the community through preventative education, public awareness and promotion of coordinated regional services.” ![]() The Heart of Texas Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse is one of the oldest organizations of its type in the state of Texas, founded in 1946. It is the only 501-3 non-profit corporation with a primary focus on substance abuse prevention in the Heart of Texas region which includes Bosque, Falls, Freestone, Hill, Limestone county and McLennan counties. All HOTCADA staff performing screening, assessments & brief/motivational counseling are Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors (LCDCs). The Prevention/Intervention program staff has a minimum of a Bachelors degree plus specialized training related to their assigned program. Trained LCDC staff directly answers the toll-free Help Line calls 24/7. Printed information & brochures on a wide variety of substance abuse topics are available by request at the HOTCADA office. We are funded by a grant from the Department of State Health Services (DSHS). More than half of the people that we serve are without insurance.
